It is always a great day in education with this community-based math tutoring service for grades K-9. The model is the formation of interactive and engaging learning communities. Tutors provide guided practice with feedback and teach specific concepts through grade-level, challenging and remedial approaches as necessary. Problem solving includes gathering and analyzing data. Data analysis is an essential skill in achieving successful outcomes with word problems. Students practice higher-order problem-solving skills and test-taking strategies and engage in meaningful discussions through tutorial facilitation. Like sports, math engagement is a practice workout, as learners study properties of math through applicable problem solving. Tutorial sessions and math camps are intended to increase academic development, boost confidence in math abilities, spark an interest in math application, and supplement the regular classroom experience.
